How should a learner start using Prompt reduction during memorisation?

Keep new memorisation small enough that established material can still be revised reliably. Use retrieval before prompts and test from more than one starting point so recall is not tied only to the beginning. Start with a simple version of the method and add complexity only if it actually improves recall.
