How can a learner avoid exaggerating Madd muttasil and madd munfasil?

Use a small set of examples, listen to a correct model, and then test the same skill in unfamiliar Quran text. Keep recognition, sound production and fluency as separate targets when needed. Aim for a clear correct sound, not an exaggerated performance of the rule.
